Writing is something I’ve always enjoyed, and writing for Cycling Shorts offers me the opportunity to do what I love doing on two levels. I love writing and I love cycling. This writing opportunity will also encourage me to fill my time at university more constructively. Sleeping in late, drinking too much alcohol and eating Nutella with a teaspoon is no way to live. I tried out a blog in the summer and I’ve decided it’s about time I give cycling writing a proper go.

My cycling career is a combination of starstruck super fan/club time-triallist/Cat 4 no-hoper. I started out in autumn 2009 with the purchase of a road bike, and I was infatuated with all things cycling in a matter of weeks. Whether watching, reading or participating; cycling makes me smile. Seeing a Europcar van, for example, makes me smile. It’s just an awesome sport, and I love everything about it.
